Hello Travelers, DM’s, friends, and Foes. I’m Flameshot, but you can call me Flame.
Of course, an introduction wouldn’t be complete without some background. I’m a Highschooler, and for most of my childhood, I was enamored by monsters, Roleplaying, and the basic concept of what dnd would become in my life. I’ve started playing more seriously as Quarantine hit, making a lot of friends and seeing a lot more of the World. But with this, I had also started DM’ing. And every homebrew world I would make, I would stuff as much interesting crap into them as I could without having the endurance to plan sessions. But one problem always arose, “Why would this fit in the world.”
So over the course of a few months, I’ve had to devote time to look up the basic lore outside of 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. And with that, I have decided to aid the community as a whole, rather than Reddit posts and stack exchange questions, to try to collect it all and present it.
Another part of My DM’ing has also been Difficulty in my campaigns. I always enjoyed Pushing hard combat and lax RP, making my players work for their happy ending. Of course, I have relaxed since then, using statblock builders to pad out combat to not be as bad. But I also learned how to give enemies a leg up in tactics. Whereas players may be able to plan and pray it works, DM’s can mold and change what they need of their enemies to actually enact some damage. It doesn't have to be big, adding a low to equal magic-user or someone with a Class ability, can change the flow of battle and how the Players work. For this, I understand not many are willing to potentially TPK, and I’m not asking you to. I only wish to provide an idea of a way to use them.
With this, I welcome you. I will try to write every Tuesday, and as a Pledge, I will do all in my power to keep the paid sections cheap, and the subscription under $6.
I thank you for your time, and Can’t wait to start writing!
~Flame
